Introduction to Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Section
Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Department is a department under the Ministry of Planning, Government of Bangladesh. This department is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of projects under the Annual Development Scheme. Besides, the department is engaged in monitoring the field projects and submitting reports to the concerned ministries. Besides, the department controls the activities of the Central Technical Unit. The Ministry of Planning established the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Department through the Business Act in 1996. The Institute receives financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank to enhance the performance of the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Department.
Activities of Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Department
Monitors and evaluates the implementation of development projects. Prepare quarterly, annual and periodic reports by collecting and compiling data on project-based implementation progress. Provides expert and consultancy services to Ministries/Implementing Agencies as required for project implementation. Field level visits are conducted to know the implementation status of the project through site or area verification. Coordinating between Ministries/Departments/Organizations as necessary and taking measures to resolve project implementation issues.
